Slow Down-It's a Construction Zone

It seems like every time one construction project gets
finished, another one starts! Nowadays, it's nearly
impossible to travel for even 1 mile without seeing
construction barricades on the roads. Population increases
lead to growth, but sometimes it seems more of a setback
than a good thing! Construction brings noise and dirty
conditions, but there is no way around it. It is important
to remember that sometimes dealing with inconveniences with
construction in the short term will lead to years of
pleasure in the long run. Although sometimes hard to see
initially, construction brings growth, which brings jobs,
which brings growth in the economy. An end result of win-
win for everyone.
Road construction can be unnerving when trying to get
around town. Areas that are already congested with high
amounts of cars seem doubly so while road construction is
under way. The one thing to remember when dealing with road
construction is to keep a level head and stay calm while
dealing with increased traffic. It is very easy to get
aggravated behind the wheel, but that will not serve anyone
any good purpose, especially yourself. In these times of
everyone being in a hurry, slowing down in areas of road
construction are not only a courtesy, but a must. Fines
are very hefty for speeding through a construction zone,
so taking your time to get through a construction area with
caution is not only safe for you and the road workers, but,
as equally important, it is the law.
With increased population, comes an increase in housing
construction. Areas that once were orange groves or tree
farms are now being cleared to make way for houses and
apartments. Construction of housing is loud and chaotic,
with many trucks going in and out of construction sites.
It is a good idea to use caution when traveling in any
housing construction area.
Commercial construction is another sign of growth. From
office buildings to sports arenas to shopping centers,
commercial construction growth is all around us. This is
another location where there are many trucks going in and
out daily, not to mention the high quantity of construction
workers who are also on the job site. Caution in these
areas is a must as well.
Construction is a necessary part of growth. Growth is a
necessary part of our society. As long as people continue
to have families we will have growth. These families and
individuals need homes, jobs, places to shop, and places to
recreate. New construction is a sign that the economy is
doing well. A good economy is good for everyone. So, when
you see those construction barriers and large trucks and the
men and women with the hard hats and brightly colored vests,
take a deep breath, relax, and drive safely, carefully, and
be considerate to your fellow drivers and travelers.
